The Wizards of Once

I have been reading a book about:

Wizards Fighting Warriors

It's extremely long, and quite good. It's by Cressida Cowell, creator of How to train your dragon. It is about a boy called Xar (pronounced Zar) and a girl called Wish. Wish is a warrior, and Xar is a Wizard who's magic has not come in yet. The blurb is:

Once there was magic...

This is the story of a young boy WIZARD

and a young girl WARRIOR

brought up as ENEMIES

But have they been so busy FIGHTING

that an ANCIENT EVIL has returned unnoticed?

The characters are: Caliburn the bird who can talk,

Forestheart, Darkeye and Kingcat, his snowcats

The Wizards were in the lead of a great war before the Warriors found IRON, a substance that cannot be cursed or enchanted. This gave them the upper hand against the wizards, and in their land, they had banned every single magical animal: snowcats, sprites, giants, rogrebreaths, werewolves, greenteeths, they had also banned: Flying, enchanted objects, spelling, cursing, charming and magic whatsoever.
